A good custom orthotic starts with a good assessment, and a superior orthotic starts with a superior assessment.
At Guelph Orthotics, we the use the most advanced movement analysis technologies available today. After the assessment, we will take hand molded casts of your feet. The casts will then be turned into molds and your orthotics will be vacuum formed to these molds to ensure an exacting fit. All of this takes place in our in-house fabrication facility.
Orthotists have been determined by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care as the experts when it comes to custom braces. We have the facilities to assess, design, fabricate and fit just about any type of brace that you can imagine. Our braces can help with mobility, pain, safety and therapy. A custom brace (AFO, KAFO etc) can be useful in a wide range of cases including stroke, cerbral palsy (CP), mutiple scleorosis (MS), spina bifida, spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury, post polio, muscular dystrophy, arthritis etc.
Whether you have complex challenges and require a custom brace (like an ankle foot orthosis) or you wear orthotics for plantar fasciitis a good pair of shoes is an integral factor in the solution. Traditionally orthopedic footwear has negative connotations of ‘ugly shoes’. We have searched high and low to come up with a selection of beautiful shoes that also happen to have excellent orthopedic qualities.
At Guelph Orthotics we pride ourselves on being at the cutting edge of the analysis of human movement. We are human movement experts and can apply our technologies to any scenario as they are completely portable. Want to receive an exact in depth breakdown of your hockey stride? Want to see how you running stride changes as you fatigue? Do you want to see how your employees move to accomplish the tasks within their job? We are happy to discus any unique human movement scenarios with you.
